Happy New Year!!!
It's a whole new Millennium, and we're fired up and ready to go :)
At the urging of our more than 15,000 members and subscribers, we have been gathering evidence of official misconduct and deliberate fraud in the Florida presidential election.
With the more than $25,000 you have contributed, we've hired lawyers and investigators and begun our own investigation of several extremely disturbing allegations.
This weekend, we have been in contact with several Members of Congress to secure their commitment to challenging Florida's electors on Saturday when Congress meets. You should anticipate a major announcement about this by Wednesday.
If we are to succeed, we urgently need three things:
1. Call your Senators and Representative IMMEDIATELY.

Call the Washington DC office and the district office (you'll find both numbers in our Guide), and if there is no one to speak to, leave a message. Tell them you are a constituent (leave your address) and urge them to vote to reject Florida's 25 Electors on January 6 in order to preserve our Democracy. We URGENTLY need a Democratic Senator to co-sponsor the challenge, so call your Democratic Senators (if you have any) FIRST.
2. We need to demonstrate overwhelming public support for the challenge. Please forward this e-mail to your friends and colleagues and ask them to forward it to their friends and colleagues. Please visit http://TrustthePeople.com to subscribe to our lists, and in the Actions section do as many of the "Ten Things You Can Do to Help" as you can.
3. We need to launch a public relations campaign of sufficient scale that it will force the political establishment and the news media to confront what the American people already know -- that Gore won more votes in Florida. The integrity of American democracy depends on opening our eyes and acknowledging this truth. We need your financial support. We need EACH of our members and subscribers to contribute to demonstrate breadth of our support. Even if you can only give $10 the number of contributors is as important as the amount we raise. We will spend every dollar we can gather on the most effective advertising we can buy.
Both the House and Senate must agree, so if the Democrats are unified we still need 5 Republicans in the House to join us for the challenge to succeed. But even if we fail, we expect to be better off.
First, the clarity of Gore's victory in Florida will reveal itself. The Miami Herald estimates that when they complete the count now underway of votes missed by the machines, Gore will have won Florida by 23,000 votes.Second, the magnitude of the Bush brothers' complicity in the conspiracy to suppress voter turnout by illegal means will gradually be revealed.
As the truth is revealed, the vote by Congressional Republicans to give Florida stolen Electors to George W. Bush will become a disastrous mark of dishonor that will cost many of them their seats. The challenge will also galvanize the Democrats in Congress, and strengthen both their resolve and their ability to deny Bush's most extreme cabinet appointments, including John Ashcroft.
Thank you for all of the support and attention you've given us in our first year. We are proud of the community we have begun to establish and we look forward to 2001 with great hope and confidence in our collective ability to realize the promise of American democracy.
