Dear Representative:
The 2000 General Presidential Election, with its attendant fraud in Florida and with five members of the Supreme Court appointing a president against the will of a majority of the voters has unified grassroots Democrats. Feelings of anger and frustration are very high among these voters.
Today there are over 200 Democrat Internet web sites and between 2,000 and 3,000 E-mail groups representing several million Democrats. Important information is shared by all these concerned Americans.
You and nine other Democrat Representatives are an important topic being discussed by these citizens. I'm sure you will hear from many of them. The general feeling among these people is that you are a traitor to the Democrats who voted you into office.
Recent polls indicate that the majority of Americans reject the Bush tax plan. In a March 8 Los Angeles Times poll, 58% expressed concern that the Bush tax cut would result in a deficit. A March 8 Wall Street Journal poll indicates 52% Agree with the Democrats in Congress while only 41% agree with Bush on his Tax cut.
Before any tax cut, the national debt should be paid down, and Social Security and Medicare should be secured. We do appreciate and thank the House of Representatives for HR 2, which will protect the Social Security and Medicare trust funds. We pray the Senate will also pass that bill.
Perhaps you have a reason to vote with the Republicans, which will march in lockstep with Bush, but it only angers us. We have pledged to give support in the primaries to Democrat candidates the we believe will fight against the illegal occupant in OUR White House.
In 2002, we will elect a Congress that will repeal Bush's disastrous tax cut.
