The year 2000 proved to be a rather shocking and unconventional year, which is not surprising considering that ‘astronomically’ the God of the Old World ‘Saturn’ and The God of the Universal Mind ‘Uranus’ are in conflict or square for most of the cycle.  We have witnessed the most shocking election of modern times – arising not from expected Yugoslavia – but from the “Greatest” Country in the World:  The United States of America!   Election 2000 gave rise to much in the eyes of Americans, including that constitutionally Americans do not have the right to vote for President, yet this delegation is given strictly to the Legislature, which can turn or change the will of the people at its whim.

The December 12th decision by the United States Supreme Court opened many eyes with the following statement:

“The individual citizen has no federal constitutional right to vote for electors for the President of the United States unless and until the state legislature chooses a statewide election as the means to implement its power to appoint members of the Electoral College.  U.S. Constitution., Article II, Section 1.  This is the source for the statement in McPherson v. Blacker, 146 U.S. 1, 35 (1892), that the State legislature’s power to select the manner for appointing electors is plenary; it may, if it so chooses, select the electors itself, which indeed was the manner used by State legislatures in several States for many years after the Framing of our Constitution.  Id., at 28-33.  History, has now favored the voter, and in each of the several States the citizens themselves vote for Presidential electors.  When the state legislature vests the right to vote for President in its people, the right to vote as the legislature has prescribed is fundamental; and one source of its fundamental nature lies in the equal weight accorded to each vote and the equal dignity owed to each voter.  The State, of course, after granting the franchise in the special context of Article II, can take back the power to appoint electors.”     -- (Hon?) Justice Antonin Scalia

Scalia, a strict constructionist with a hopeful gleaming eye towards the Supreme Court Chief Justice position – in a Bush administration has tossed out the American Ideology of 1 vote for 1 person – and replaced it with a Republican controlled legislature in the State of Florida hell bent on disenfranchisement and control.  My question is:  at what price?

The quote from the Supreme Court that will go down in history though, is from its oldest member:

“What must underlie petitioners’ entire federal assault (referring to Bush) on the Florida election procedures is an unstated lack of confidence in the impartiality and capacity of the state judges who would make the critical decision if the vote count were to proceed.  Otherwise, their position is wholly without merit.  The endorsement of that position by the majority of this Court can only lend credence to the most cynical appraisal of the work of judges throughout the land.  It is confidence in the men and woman who administer the judicial system that is the true backbone of the rule of law.  Time will one day heal the wound to that confidence that will be inflicted by today’s decision.  One thing, however, is certain.  Although we may never know with complete certainty the identity of the winner of this year’s Presidential election, the identity of the loser is perfectly clear.  It is the Nation’s confidence in the judge as an impartial guardian of the rule of law.”

Hon. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens

Justice Stevens, in extreme eloquence, unequivocally and beautifully, in legal jargon sums up a modern day Saturn-Uranus square.  The God’s are at war!   How long will it last seems to be summed up in the Bush administration, which promises compassionate conservativism, yet has revealed itself with the “vast right wing” year 2004 hopeful, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-NY, warned us of just three short years ago.  If this occurred in any other country of the world, the United States politicians would be screaming, coup d’etat, from the rooftops.   The horror is that they have attempted to use metaphoric verbal elixir to put the people to sleep and ignore the fact that on Jan 20, 2001 the President “SELECT” will enter the White House!

In the New Year Chart, the Ascendant is at 07 Libra (applying to a conjunction with Vindemiatrix, the Widows Star) and lands in the 10th house of the American natal chart screaming:  FOCUS ON THE PRESIDENT.  In addition, Saturn (8th house) and Uranus (5th house) usher in more spin than a showroom of Maytag washers and a Bush administration pouring a double dose of Downy to soften up the American people for his agenda.  In psychological astrology, the 8th house refers to the unconscious – and in a countries chart – it would reflect the unconscious of the country as well as its alternative mundane meanings.  Saturn attempts to embody things in form, and it is hard to believe that President Select Bush will escape the cutting of his scythe, which not only helped him win (through constructionist Scalia and the other 4 Injustices) – yet will castrate his Presidency from a Republican Party who eventually will turn on him.   Bush is merely a modern day MacBeth, who will reveal that ‘absolute power corrupts absolutely’.

In light of this all, we must remember that we are under a Jupiter-Saturn election year in America.  In May, Jupiter and Saturn conjoined at 22 Taurus, and kicked of the classic theory that every president since 1840 has died in office under a Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in earth.  This conjunction occurs every twenty years and this is classically known in history as Techumpseh’s curse.    Which is wonderfully summed up at http://www.snopes2.com/spoons/fracture/curse.htm and is wonderfully called,  “Ail To the Chief”.

President Select Bush does fall under this Astrological Cycle, and the chart for the year is ripe with characteristics for an assassination.  New Year Neptune is located in an angular house and is the despositor of the Moon, which rules the 10th house of the Government/Presidency.  New Years Mars is in Partile Square to Neptune, which according to Ivy Jacobson is the classic assassination signature.  Explosive Uranus, of shocks rules the 5th house of media and is square to the Part of Death, which is at 19 Scorpio.  Add insult to injury, Uranus squares the POD, which is conjunct the fixed star Serpentis, the most accursed degree of the most accursed sign.  In addition, Uranus’ classical ruler, Saturn is in the Eighth house of death of the chart.

In light of all this angst, the American People are a resilient lot and will overcome being held hostage by the President Select and the Republican’s for four years.  The major issue is that transiting Uranus to the United States natal Moon, might be enough trigger to keep America awake – long enough for Moira to spin her wheel once again (and at early glance will be towards Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2004).  Till then we will deal with oil crises after oil crises to make the rich richer and an extreme rise of terrorism, all confirmed by the aspects above.  Soon the American people will grossly realize that the Hydra has taken over the White House – and once again we have the same players – making the same mistakes, yet a Congress, which is equally a ‘house divided’ and may limit the Hydra from spewing her poison.
